Morir Soñando is an exploration of Dominican identity by deconstructing the national dance Merengue and experimenting how this form of dance translates to non-Caribbean dancer's bodies. The work navigates the performers’ understanding of the culture through the use of Merengue music, the language and hip movements. Throughout this exploration, other topics starts to arise such as race, class, lifestyle in Dominican Republic, colonization and family memories. It was showcased at the University of Roehampton and Elefeet Dance festival in London, UK. It has been reviewed by views from the gods, U.K. Theatre Network, Afridiziak Theatre and Dulwich on View. Also, it was featured on The British Blacklist.
